Week of 11/16 Update

        This is the first weekly update written by Max VS. and Nate H. about how Max and Kam's class, 2014-2015, is doing.

        New Assignments: This week we had a few assignments about Thanksgiving in preparation for the upcoming holiday. We had to "dress a turkey" with a pun to go along with it. We started with a template of a turkey and we had to come up with a funny pun and then dress it accordingly. The weekly math/science challenge was to figure out how much Thanksgiving dinner costs per person (for your family). We had to draw nuts for our specimen this week.

        News: We are going on a field trip on Monday the 11-24 to Betasso Preserve near Boulder to investigate pine beetles and dwarf mistletoe in pines. Make sure to pack layers, a lunch, and appropriate snow boots. Kam was sick on Thursday and Friday. Get better soon! Last week we started book groups and they are going well so far. The book groups that are going on right now are The Lord of the Flies and The Hobbit. Next week is a short week and we have Wednesday and Thursday off.

Predict the date of our first snow day this year in the comments along with the book title. You can also predict "No Snow Day." The winner will get some treat if they remember to remind Max when the snow day happens. If the prediction of a specific day is exact, the class will get a cake.
